Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station takes great pride in its ability to maintain and operate such a critical source of power safely and securely. The facility is both safe and secure against natural and manmade events for many reasons that range from a highly trained security force to the highest-level containment structure.
Nuclear power is more scrutinized than any other generation source in the country. Not only do we have required standards of operation that are second to none, we must adhere to a high level of operational and business expectations. We've operated at record capacity since Entergy purchased the facility in 1999—that means we have generated almost the maximum amount of electricity we are capable of producing. Our safety record, as well as our commitment to the environment and our neighbors is a reflection of our important place in the community.
Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station received its license renewal in 2012 to operate until 2032.
